Our community comprises Malay, Chinese (Hakka, Cantonese, Hokkien), Indian, and Orang Asli populations, creating a unique multicultural environment shaped by over a century of mining heritage. Today, the community actively participates in heritage preservation, sustainable tourism development, and cultural programs that strengthen social bonds while honoring diverse traditions.

Indigenous Heritage

Orang Asli Community

The Orang Asli people are the indigenous inhabitants of Sungai Lembing, maintaining deep ancestral connections to the land and forest. The Jakun tribe, part of the Proto-Malay group, has lived in these areas for generations, preserving traditional knowledge of medicinal plants, sustainable forest practices, and cultural customs.

Today's Orang Asli community faces unique challenges balancing traditional lifestyles with modern development. Through community programs and cultural preservation initiatives, we work to empower Orang Asli participation in tourism, ensure access to education and healthcare, and protect their rights to ancestral lands and cultural practices.
